Patterson Consulting Group

Overview

Patterson Consulting Group is an HR consulting company focused on putting people first — from finding gaps in HR programs, creating talent and succession planning, and retention strategies.

Challenges

  • Having people be a part of the logo without it looking too much like a health/fitness brand.

  • Designing and building an entire website from the ground up and maintaining it as the company expands.

Goals

  • Create a brand, brand collateral, website, and email newsletter for Patterson Consulting Group.

  • Highlight the “putting people first” tagline in logo.

  • Creating a brand whose tone is friendly and fun but also modern, simple, clean and optimistic with orange as one of the main colors.

Process

  • First I start with learning as much as I can about the company so I can accurately represent what the client is wanting to communicate with this brand. In this case the focus is on the “putting people first” tagline. With Patterson Consulting Group there is a strong focus on knowing your employees by enhancing your HR team to humanize your workplace.

  • Next, I moved onto sketching logo options and choosing the best ones to make vector. While sketching I explored abstract letters, PCG abbreviation, many people poses and faces to try to find the right look.

  • Once we had the right mark and type, next was building out the additional brand elements such as business cards, letterhead, slide deck, social graphic templates, and LinkedIn graphics before moving onto the website.

Final Branding

Email Newsletter

I created an email newsletter template in ActiveCampaign for the PCG Post monthly newsletter. In creating the template I also made the PCG Post standard email header graphic. Shown below is a few of the PCG Post email header options and what it was like building an email in the ActiveCampaign platform.

Webpage Updates

Since first starting doing work with PCG, I’ve been able to see their business expand and grow. Along with that growth comes updates. Here’s a side by side of how the original About and Results pages evolved as the PCG grew.
